Being a Working mother stinks...

I mean it's hard enough being a mother it's a full time job and it's one that is bitter sweet. The tough part about being a working mother is having to leave your kids with a nanny or putting them in daycare.

It ticks me off I've gone through two nannys because they were awful and pretty much didn't do anything. Now I have both my kids in daycare which is harder in some aspects because they are not at home and exposed to so many things.
I also think that some of the staff is clueless when it comes to kids. There is so much BS they try to act like they are so wonderful and this and that... When it comes down to it nobody will treat your kids as you do or as a family member would.
I'm hoping to win the lottery or find a job where I can work from home full time and take care of my own kids. I hope that day comes soon!

I'm just saying that's all...

It's not an obssession it is a necessity....

So my husband cannot understand the obssession I have with handbags. I can't explain the feeling I get when I have a new designer hangbag. I'm like a kid in a candy store. I just can't get enough. I am especially a fan of Chanel handbags, (break the bank) the two I have were gifts from my mom. But there is just something about that classic leather Chanel handbag. Handbags just seal the deal when it comes to your outfit. Having a great handbag is just a necessity to completing your look.

I'm adding this must have Chanel bag for this winter to my Christmas wish list. (hmmm fingers crossed wink wink)
Ofcourse I do not discriminate when it comes to handbags there are many designers I love.
In fact I'm really excited about the latest addition to my closet. Lovely Michael Kors black Hobo bag with gold chains.

Coco Chanel said it best: "A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous."

Get involved and make a difference!

Charity and philanthropy is something I feel strongly about. There are some great events coming up with some really fabulous organizations. A lot of times I get people asking me what are some charities in DC I can volunteer or get involved with. DC has some of the most amazing foundations and charities. This month is an opportunity to go to these events and support some really great causes.

Becky'sFund- This organization helps foster awareness of domestic violence and promotes programs to create support for victims of domestic violence. Sept 28th 2010 Becky's Fund is having an event called "Walk this Way" charity fashion show. Check out the website for more details www.beckysfund.org. Why not do something charitable and have fun at the same time.

Tigerlilly Foundation-This organization's mission is to educate, advocate for, empower young women before, during, and after breast cancer. The founder of the foundation is a breast cancer survivor herself and a very courageous woman. Sept 29th 2010 2nd Annual Gala at the Willard InterContinental Hotel in DC. For more details checkout the website for this and other events coming up www.tigerlillyfoundation.com.

One Brick- This organization is great it has multiple volunteer and charity events for all kinds of different charities in the area. No long term commitment you can checkout the calendar on their website to select a volunteer opportunity that you are interested in. It's also a great chance to meet people and get involved. For more information check out www.onebrick.org.

There are many many more great causes to get involved in, but hopefully you can find something that interests you. I personally find it really rewarding.

Bye Bye Summer... Hello Fall

Fall is definitely my most favorite time of the year. Love the refreshing weather and cooler temps, the beautiful scenery as the leaves change colors, and most of all the fashion. Time to Fall in love with the Fall Fashion Trends for 2010, my top 5 faves are:

Black Out- You can never go wrong wearing black it is a flattering color on anyone. Well this year fall's trend is black on black on black. Head to toe that is.

Military Chic-Support the fall trend of military influenced fashion. Clean cuts with earth palettes of neutrals and olive greens. There are many different ways to rock this look whether you like the broken in military boots or military enhanced accessories. I particulary like the well tailored military jacket over a soft feminine dress.

Metallics-Bold Metallics are hot this season. Especially if you are going out for a night out on the town or maybe just out to dinner and you want to spice up your look. Go with a classic metallic blazer or maybe a metallic pencil skirt. Maybe just go all out with a chic metallic dress.

Velvets-Yes velvets are back I have not seen them in awhile, but they alive and back this Fall. Usually I'm not a fan of velvet, but there are actually some great looks this season with velvet. Velvet has the appeal to be a day time look that can be taken into the evening for a fancy affair. I'm loving this look with a mix of fabrics and accessories highlighted with the velvet top:

Turtleneck Dresses-I remember back in the day when I was a kid how I hated turtlenecks, they were such a thing of the past. But turtlenecks are rejuvinated into a stylish
way this Fall by being attached in dresses. They are cozy and warm as the cold weather makes it's way. Lovin this little number..

Ofcourse there are many other great Fall fashion trends to keep your eye out on. I definitely can't wait to break out some of these fall styles as soon as the weather gets colder.
